The American television series Power Rangers (OT: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / MMPR) is based on the Japanese format Super Sentai. The plot revolves around a group of young people who join forces to fight together against evil. Usually consists of the Power Rangers squad of five members. These are each characterized by their individual skills and character.    In addition, each member has a combat suit. This serves both to protect the identity of the young people. On the other hand, the distinctive armor acts as a supportive force in the fight against monsters and aliens. The combat uniforms usually have different colors. So there are, among others, red, blue, black, yellow, green and pink copies. The Power Rangers use different weapons and will also receive from major combat robots support that call themselves Zords.    While the Power Rangers improve both their weapons and their Zords during the different seasons, it is usually a villain to eliminate. This usually has only one goal in mind: the destruction of the earth and the concomitant destruction or subjugation of humanity. However, until the Power Rangers their nemesis standing face to face, they have to face a whole series of hostile creatures who are waiting at the end of each episode on it.    The enemy is too powerful at some point, the hero squad need help. This procedure is repeated from season to season until the final boss is defeated.    Background information on Power Rangers    Power Rangers is based on Japanese action series Super Sentai. The US-American and exotic version celebrated on 28 August 1993 to Fox Kids its premiere and has since been broadcast on different channels. So the format of Fox Television switched to Disney and meanwhile arrived at Nickelodeon. The original plan was the original series easy to import into the United States. Due to different traditions, value systems and cultures, however, this idea was quickly rejected.    Instead, Power Rangers sets of classic Super Sentai elements (such as the Monster battles and iconic battle dress) and supplements the rest with Western ingredients. Accordingly, the Japanese actors were replaced by American and the story away also from the land of the rising sun. The plot of the individual seasons followed generally a proven concept, which consists primarily that the Power Rangers come together and fight afterwards against their opponents.    From the seventh season, the makers still trying to bring in the format a bit more variety. The episodes last on average between 20 minutes and half an hour. However, the German versions run in a shorter version on television (including on RTL, Super RTL, Jetix, Disney XD and Nickelodeon Germany). Currently, Power Rangers is divided into 21 squadrons, which are bundled in a total of seventeen serial chapters with its own name. Another trip to the big screen is planned in 2016 under the simple title Power Rangers. Jumanji director Joe Johnston will direct the film on the project. Previously, the filmmaker has his skills at Captain America - The First Avenger, Jurassic Park III and Hidalgo - made 3000 miles to fame to the test. (MH)
